We are a Spanish Real Estate business

Spanish Country Cottages is a family run business based both in Spain and the UK. We specialise in rural Spanish properties to renovate in northern Spain. We provide all the necessary services needed relating to the purchase of your Spanish dream property.

We discovered northern Spain after realising that renovating our dream home in the UK was beyond our financial means. However, when we visited the Turia Valley, a region of Asturias and Galicia for the first time we were overwhelmed by its natural beauty of magical forests, rivers, mountains, beaches, and never imagined that we could own our dream home here. The area has wonderful beaches and an incredible sense of tranquillity and peace, yet it is still very close to historic towns that have all necessary amenities and the social interaction when required. It feels as if you live in your own little paradise but still close enough to everything without feeling isolated.

You can imagine our surprise and immense joy when we found the numerous rural properties available (some more than 200 years old) to buy and restore. We choose our dream property just outside an idyllic stone village with only 20 inhabitants. We have our own water and wood supply, and imagine that our land includes its own small forest with ancient pine trees. It’s a dream come true!

We then found out that the area had been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and that the European Community had approved funds to promote rural tourism in the area which really was the cherry on the cake for us.

So it goes without saying that our house has been a great investment. We have a beautiful idyllic home where we can spend our family holidays and also have the opportunity to rent it when not in use which allows additional income.

We have decided to share our experience and bring the opportunity to others so you can renovate and own your dream Spanish home too.
